U Visit Two Days
After breakfast at āUā, how about a museum visit or a morning stroll through the city?
At the nearby Red Star Line Museum U can relive the stories of the people who emigrated on the Red Star Line in search of luck and a better life in the United States.
Afterwards, U can walk to the Staatsburgdok and visit the new Port House. The British architect Zaha Hadid created an architectural masterpiece on top of the former fire station.
From there U will have a great view of Antwerp. It looks out over the port, Het Eilandje, and the Scheldt River.
Then U can take a pleasant stroll through the historic centre to Het Zuid neighbourhood until U reach the new law courts, where U can admire the exceptional architecture of this building.
U can then visit one of the many museums in Het Zuid, such as the FoMu photography museum or the MUHKA contemporary art museum, or one of the many art galleries.
Het Zuid is also the perfect place for lunch or an afternoon drink.
Afterwards, U can take Tram 4 past the splendid 19th-century townhouses to Zurenborg. This area has been completely upgraded, and U can wander around and discover all the wonderful architecture.
Tram 11 will take U back to the Korte Nieuwstraat in the city centre. Nearby is the Hendrik Conscience Square where U can see all types of comic murals, just another unusual aspect of the city.
And don't forget the Vlaeykensgang.
If U want an incredible view out over the entire city, then take the foot tunnel under the Scheldt. This will take U to Linkeroever, the left bank of the river.
From there U will have a breathtaking view of the Antwerp skyline.
At the end of the day, we will welcome U back to U Antwerp in Het Eilandje, where U can end your unforgettable visit to Antwerp in style.
